Why there’s no cookie banner
The site is dark by default and sets no cookie at all until you click the theme switch. The cookie then stores only the preference you asked it to remember, isn’t used to identify or track you, and is never sent to anyone but this website. Storage that is strictly necessary to provide a feature you explicitly request is exempt from consent under the EU ePrivacy Directive (Article 5(3)) and the UK PECR, so no consent banner is needed. If that ever changes — for example, if analytics are added — the site will ask for your consent first.
Your choices
You can clear the preference here at any time; the site goes back to the default dark theme. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings.
