ATLsim – CoPilot Privacy Policy

In short
- Checklists you make are stored on your PC.
- Cloud checklists are optional and off by default; turning them on needs a username and email address.
- Speech recognition and speech use the voices built into Windows.
This policy covers CoPilot Checklist, part of the ATLsim – CoPilot series for Windows, made by Chris Gonzalez, an independent developer (“I”, “me”).
On your PC
CoPilot Checklist stores your settings (voice, speech speed, recognition confidence and theme) and the aircraft and checklists you create in your Windows user profile. They stay on your PC.
Voice. Speech recognition and speech use the speech engines built into Windows. CoPilot listens for checklist responses and commands while it is listening; you can mute it at any time by saying “Stop listening”. CoPilot Checklist does not record or keep audio.
Cloud checklists (optional, off by default)
Cloud checklists are turned off by default, and running and editing your own checklists does not need an account. Nothing is sent to the web service unless you turn the feature on. If you open Cloud Checklists to share or download checklists, the app asks you to register, and then sends the following to the CoPilot Checklist web service operated by me:
- Username and email address — to identify you as the author of shared checklists and to keep usernames unique. Your username is shown to other users next to checklists you share. Your email address is used for registration and is not displayed in the app.
- Aircraft and checklists you choose to share, including the aircraft name, developer and manufacturer you enter. Shared checklists are visible to other users.
This information is used only to run the cloud checklist feature. It is not sold, used for advertising or shared with anyone else.
Deleting your information
To have your registration and shared checklists removed from the web service, email support@chrisgonzalez.net from the address you registered with, including your username. To remove local data, uninstall the app and delete the CoPilot-Checklist folder in %LOCALAPPDATA% if it remains.
Children
CoPilot Checklist is not directed at children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has registered, contact me and I will delete the account.
Changes to this policy
If CoPilot Checklist’s handling of information changes, this policy will be updated before the change takes effect, and the effective date above will change.
